History of medullary thyroid cancer
History of thyroid cancer
History of gallbladder disease
History of pancreatitis
Multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2)
History of bowel obstruction or bowel problems
Pregnant/breast feeding/trying to get pregnant (not recommended)

What are the common side effects of this medication?

Most commonly reported side effects involve the gastrointestinal system. These typically decrease over time and include:

Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Since this medication delays your stomach emptying of food, if you are having any type of surgery please let the provider know as this can cause aspiration risk during anesthesia.

We recommend taking a stool softener such as Colace and anti nausea medicine such as Dramamine to help with these side effects. If our client experiences severe nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea, IV Hydration is available at our spa

How is the medication administered?

You will come into the spa once weekly and our medical provider will do your injection under the skin in the abdomen area. We can also order the medication for you to do it at home, but will require check in’s monthly while on the program.

Can I use my insurance for the medication?

Insurance will not cover this medication since we are using it for weight loss management and not medical.

How do I get started?

Call to book your consultation in a spa, or virtual with our medical provider.
You will be evaluated by one of our nurse practitioners to see if you are a good candidate for the medication.
Blood work is required to start this medication. Labs are easily done in spa. We will check to see if your insurance will cover your lab work. If not, the lab cost is $175.

How much weight will I lose on the program?

Everyone’s results will be different, and just like any weight loss program this medication is a tool to aid you in your weight loss journey. Taking full advantage while on the program to develop healthy eating habits, weekly workouts, and intermittent fasting have helped our clients lose 50 + pounds.

3 month program approx 15-20 pounds
6 month program 25-50 pounds
9 months 50-100 pounds is possible

What happens when I finish the program?

We have a weekly maintenance program available with a low dosage of medication. After you have completed the program, maintenance option will be discussed.

Can I restart the program after stopping?

If you have not reached your weight loss goals and your BMI is still high we advise you to continue the program instead of stopping.

If you have reached your weight loss goal, and would like to restart after taking a break of 3 months or more, our medical provider will evaluate you to see if you qualify to restart.
